The Aztec Gems design and themes are pretty straightforward; it is quite simply an Aztec-themed slot with gems on the reels. The reels are arranged in a golden frame against a forest backdrop with waterfalls falling on either side of the screen, though the large reel size prevents any environmental storytelling as far as setting is concerned. The reels look like they are hewn from stone and cast from metal and include geometric swirls and shapes evocative of the design styles favoured by the Aztec people.
The soundtrack of this game is typical adventure-style music, but players can turn this off completely and can also reduce the sounds without having to do so for their entire device. Alongside this, players can choose to turn off only the soundtrack or only the sound effects, which is a nice addition.
On the reels, you will find a selection of jewels used as symbols to represent the suspected huge Aztec wealth that the Conquistadors sought out in the 1600s. The only problem I foresee with this game is the similarity of some of the symbols, like the two blue and two red icons. All symbols have a matching background, and it is only the shape of the aforementioned gems which differentiates them.
