When the slot game starts the first thing you need to do is actually choose the bonus games you want to activate. There are five bonus games and you can select up to three. I will discuss each bonus game in more detail below. It is important to note that if you choose less than 3 there is a higher probability to trigger the respective bonus game.
The base game mechanics are quite standard, with five reels, three rows, and twenty paylines. The betting range is from £0.20 to £500, with a value of £0.20 for every 0.01 stake/line. Blue Wizard takes us to the titular wizard’s house, or at least its whereabouts. Turns out that the wizard lives in a pretty nice part of the forest, nestled deep in a valley surrounded by trees and vegetation. It’s dusk, and you can see the lights flickering in the house’s window as the sun is about to rise. It all makes for quite the idyllic setting for a fiercely volatile game!
Moving on to the game proper, this features dark blue reels bordered in gold. On these you’ll find the symbols, of which 9 are the paying symbols. There are 4 high pays, which are the owl, cauldron, book, and ring, and the A, K, Q, J, and 10 card royal low pays. The wizard himself is the wild, and as such can substitute for all symbols except the scatter and crystal balls.
The wizard is found on reels 2, 3, 4, and 5, and can land as a stack of 3. If he makes part of a winning combination when stacked the wizard will fill the reel as a full wizard. The castle scatter will award you with the free spins round if you land 3 or more while the crystal balls trigger the Fire Blaze round if at least 6 hit on the same spin.

Fire Blaze Round
Landing 6 or more crystal ball symbols anywhere on the reels triggers the Fire Blaze feature. Here all the triggering crystal balls lock in place before you get 3 respins with which to land as many more crystal balls as possible. Landing at least 1 more crystal ball resets the respin counter back to 3. Crystal balls hold either a cash value or a star, with the stars awarding you one of 3 jackpot prizes (Mini, Minor, or Major) at the end of the round.
The Fire Blaze round ends when you either run out of respins or fill all reel positions with balls. Here the values on all balls and any jackpots are added up and the total awarded as a payout. If you manage to fill all 15 reel positions you’ll also win the Grand prize worth no less than 2,000x the stake.
Free Spins
You can get 6 free spins if 3 or more castle scatters hit on the same spin. During these any wilds that land on reel 3 come with a random multiplier of 2x, 4x, x, or 16x. Blue Wizard Final Thoughts
Blue Wizard makes for a good, but not great, entry in the Fire Blaze series. Its main issue, really, is the games that have hit the scene both before and since, which are not really Blue Wizard’s fault. However we’ll still find ourselves going for slots that are more exciting and feature both more novel bonus rounds and higher win potential. As a result it all leads to the sidelining of Blue Wizard. Does it deserve such treatment? Maybe not, as there’s still a lot to enjoy here, but we’ll still recommend first trying it in demo mode before actually spending the cash.
