Triple Royal Gold is a three-reel slot which surprisingly manages to cream in 27 fixed paylines. Winning combinations occur when three of the same symbol types (or two of the highest paying symbols) appear from left to right, beginning with the left-most reel.
Even though the theme appears unusual for a Thunderkick slot, the setup and layout are certainly not. When you load the slot game, the reels will appear in the centre of the screen, with the Settings button in the right top corner.

Avalanche Feature
Just like in Megaways slots, when a winning combination is formed it will be removed from the reels allowing an avalanche of new symbols to take their place. This can form a chain reaction of wins, which is why the payout potential of the symbols used in the slot seems low at first; because players can win multiple times from a single spin.
Bonus Games
This is essentially Triple Royal Golds’ version of free spins. If any bonus tokens (B, O, N, U, or S) appear in the winning combination, its respective token found beneath the reel is no longer included in the round. If all five have been removed then, players will receive eight free spins to start the bonus game.
When one of the symbols generates a win during the round, the symbol beneath the reels lights up. If this happens to all five symbols, you will receive +2 free spins and an increase in the win multiplier. The multiplier can go up to x27.

Triple Royal Gold Final Thoughts
Classic-inspired 3-reel slots can be quite hit or miss with many solely relying on a sense of nostalgia to attract players. While of course, some players will fall head over heels down the retro rabbit hole, when it comes to the modern slot player, these games can often be light on paylines, payout potential, and bonus features. Therefore, when I heard that the highly modern development team Thunderkick was creating a retro 3-reeler, I had to do a double take.
Despite my scepticism, I have been pleasantly surprised by what I have seen on offer in the Triple Royal Gold slot. It truly feels like a love letter to the good old-fashioned casino slot, complete with iconic symbols and the aforementioned 3x3 reel format, perfectly paired with modern touches, like increased paylines, avalanching reels, and free spins bonus rounds.
Statistically, the Triple Royal Gold slot machine shapes up really well too. The RTP of 96.41% is well above the current market average, and though the 5,000x top prize is not the highest, it is still aptly generous. I have never come across a 3-reel slot (sans those with expanding reels), that uses an avalanching symbol mechanic and I am surprised more developers have not dabbled with the concept.
Overall, the Triple Royal Gold is a slot that surprises and exceeds expectations in equal measure. The perfect bridge between retro and modern slots, I think both modern and classic slot fans will enjoy giving the reels of this game a spin or two. For this reason, I give the Triple Royal Gold slot a score of 8.5/10.
